Flipper won't repair

I bought this during the initial kickstarter. I got my flipper and out of the box it was working fine but when I went to update the firmware it stopped working all together after the failed firmware update. The display and LED indicator no longer work but I am still able to boot into recovery, I can tell by looking at the device manager on Windows.

I have tried…

  • Different, known working, SD Card
  • Multiple known working USB-C cables
  • Switching the driver from the bootloader to the USB Easy Transfer Cable
  • All the different key combos and nothing has worked other than recovery mode
  • Using a VPN when the firmware downloads

The only thing I did initially before the firmware update was program a IR remote and add an NFC tag.

Here is the full log from whenever I try and update the firmware now.

I am here for ideas or anything that could help me, I am a software developer so I am happy to try some more complex ideas for this but I need help from people who know what they are doing.

If you do not mind disconnecting the battery and and reconnecting it after 10-30 seconds. Taking it apart and reconnecting those flat-cables solved some issues for me before. then put it in dfu with back and left 30 sec combo and repair it and flash new firmware after with qflipper and it should be good to go again.

and being a ass anyways, i still would say, try other usb ports on your machine without a hub. hurray for crippled usb configurations of some vendors. or other hardware/software conflicts that might occur in some situations like port addressing and sharing or lack of that.

From actual brick mode, i would go by disconnecting battery, wait a while, and be gentle and not break the lips for the flatcables, then back to DFU , then using qflipper repair option first and new firmware option after should be enough to revive it.

I will probably try this but I am going to wait to see what support says before I open it up lol

I only had it a week before i managed to get it in brickmode, without support this was the first thing that seemed like a option after hardreset and dfu would not work where they did before, but i was messing around with unsupported firmware with some other issues and i also had a charging issue, that also got solved by actually physically disconnecting the power and reconnecting it before going back to repair mode again.

if all options are checked like Firmware recovery - Flipper Zero - Documentation

i think it would be next best step to be sure you do not have a brick i guess?

I tried disconnecting it from power after opening it up, I also tried to update/repair on another PC and neither worked.

Have you tried hardreset without SD card in it , then back to DFU mode without sdcard and connect it to qflipper in windows or if config script f for qflipper is done on linux?
