It will be moved to a separate applet in the future.
I just modded 0.82.3 firmware with EMV and save options; itâs not that bad since all youâre doing is copy and pasting missing codes (which I use flipper unleash for that).
It was never removed. Just relocated. Click on NFC â Extra actions â read specific card type â read EMV card. It still reads bank cards just fine.
Although I could be wrong about it never being removed. I did go to the Xmonster site and add the plugins / add-ons so maybe that was part of the add-on
What plugins do you have?
Itâs disappointing that features like emulating EID and saving card numbers have been removed, as they added convenience to the banking experience. While not essential, they provided a cool and innovative touch. Hopefully, future updates will reintroduce such functionalities to enhance user experience once again.
Hi, I have the last version 104.0
I could not find EMV under / extra action, specifc cards.
I could not read the bank, credit card more than (ISOxxxx) and some basic UID, any suggestion to collect as more as possible info from encrypted cards like bank card?
I need that for showing the differences for a class of students.
There is no EMV feature and wonât be in future.
Take another card for your students. Every Mifare Classic card is good to show the RFID fundamentals. A EMV does not have any advantage to learn/showcase RFID/NFC.
The bank card is not more encrypted than any other card. But it has a SE, that is not accessable via NFC or any other interface. Not with Flipper or any other tool.
Very detailed answer, many thanks
@LupusE could you please help me by sharing your experiences with the Flipper Zero. Specifically, Iâm trying to figure out which cards can currently be read, written, and emulated using the latest version of the Flipper Zero. Iâve noticed that the ability to read most cards seems quite limitedâonly remote controls seem to work reliably.
Do you have a short list of card types that typically work well with the Flipper Zero?
And you want to tell your students anything about EMV? I think th 200$ could be better invested.
If you are refering to Infrared communication to make your point of âworkingâ, the area of âCardâ will be huge.
At first the wording of the Flipper is not very accurate. The Term âRFIDâ means the whole topic in the real world. In case of Flipper, only the LF (125kHz) cards are covered. The HF (13,25MHz) is NFC for the Flipper.
But due to tolerances, the Flipper can also read 134kHz tags in LF, which is used in plenty of animal tags. From your Housecat over Dogs to Cattle.
When we covered there are LF and HF, we come to the cards itself. There are a lot of different systems and cards.

List of supported HF systems: Reading NFC cards - Flipper Zero - Documentation
There is indeed a difference, why I wrote protocol and system.
A very popular example in Europe is Legic Prime. These tags are not secure since 2008, but still used in plenty of offices⊠But the Flipper canât interpret them. I think because of timing issues, but I have bought a PM3, and lost track of the Flipper development on this topic.
Another example are ISO15 tags. They can be read, but the results vary from scan to scan⊠I have not one successful emulation.
But the Flipper works great on standard ISO14a Mifare Classic cards.
Keep in mind the Flipper is not a magic wand. It is just a tool. And if you got a set of screwdrivers, that ties not mean you can crack open every caseâŠ
Keep asking generic questions will get you generic answers. And âdoes not workâ is not a qualified question.
