I used the power generator to create an input greater than 5v and the flipper lost response after the red LED flashed, and started to get hot then.
Connected the flipper to the Mac indicates too much power which should be a short circuit…

What power generator are you talking about?
If i understood your post correctly, you’ve supplied more than 5V to the USB port of your Flipper Zero, and it stopped working. If that is the case, I’m afraid you’ve fried some of the internal components by supplying too much voltage. You can try to fix this yourself, but it is not covered by our warranty, and we’ll be unable to provide you support on fixing that.
